The Nicholasville City Commission approved awarding Bid 2024‑270 for street milling and resurfacing to Lexington Quarry during its Sept. 23 meeting.
Public works staff told commissioners the bid was the only submittal and listed asphalt at $114 per ton and milling at $26.80 per ton. Staff noted the list of streets is shorter than in previous years because the city plans to purchase a new street sweeper this fiscal year, which will use some available funds.
Commissioners asked about recent pricing and were told the last two years’ prices have been within about $5 per ton of the current bid. The commission moved, seconded and approved the award by roll call.
