The Parlier City Council unanimously approved a resolution on Wednesday to award the electrical contract for the city’s Urban Flood Protection Pump Station project to AC Electric Company.
City staff presented a report summarizing the bidding process: two responsive bids were received. Statewide Electric submitted a labor-only figure of $65,885 but required an additional materials allowance of approximately $25,000, which would raise its total to roughly $90,885. AC Electric’s complete bid came in at $76,025, the lowest compliant total. The work includes installing new conduits from the existing switchboard to a new transformer and making electrical connections to the new pump station.
City engineer Javier Andrade and staff recommended awarding the contract and authorized the mayor and acting city manager to execute the agreement. Council voted in favor of the resolution (recorded as resolution number '2020Four-seventy7').
No public comment opposed the award at the meeting. Staff will finalize contract documents and return with execution and schedule details as required by procurement policy.
