Drucker said the update is funded largely by grants and is designed to provide headroom for growth rather than a maximum build-out: "We think that, an extra thousand units, which turns into 2,500, it might be 2,000, might be 3,000 people, and almost a thousand jobs," he said.
The study session was introductory: staff and consultants reiterated that the environmental review concluded in a mitigated negative declaration (MND) distributed for the required 30-day public review and that only one comment was received from San Bernardino County (about flooding and drainage), which the team responded to in writing.
