At its Feb. 11 meeting the Butte County Board of Supervisors approved a slate of routine appointments to advisory committees and acted on two school bond authorizations.
Appointments: The board reappointed Thad Walker and Nick Repinich to the Forest Advisory Committee (terms through 12/31/2028), appointed Robert Crow to the Housing Authority for District 4 (term to 01/01/2029), approved Anjeanette Shadley to the Northern Sacramento Valley Integrated Regional Water Management Technical Advisory Committee through 02/10/2027, and filled four seats on the Richardson Springs Community Service District with staggered terms.
School bonds: Treasurer-Tax Collector Troy Kidd asked the board to authorize Durham Unified School District to issue $9 million of Series A general obligation bonds (voter authorization: $24.5 million) and to authorize Biggs Unified School District to issue $6 million of Series A bonds (voter authorization: $16.5 million). The board approved both authorizations by motion.
Housing: A public hearing on the Table Mountain Phase 2 multifamily housing project (CDBG disaster-recovery funds) in Oroville was continued at staff request to the June 10 board meeting to allow further state review; staff said the project is fully leased and occupied.
The board approved these items largely on the consent or routine agenda and recorded the votes as passed.
What comes next: staff will finalize appointment paperwork, the school districts may proceed with bond issuance as authorized, and staff will return on June 10 with the Table Mountain closeout findings for the board to consider.
