A Lake Don Pedro resident, Shelley Cummings, called into the Mariposa County Code Compliance Advisory Committee meeting to request closer collaboration between residents, homeowners associations and county staff on two properties she said are longstanding code concerns.
Cummings identified the addresses (including 9648 Villareal) and said the homeowners association spent more than $2,000 pursuing cleanup after squatters were removed and that it has filed roughly 13–14 requests for investigation on Villareal; she also raised concerns about unpermitted modular buildings on Jaime Way. She said she and the HOA had sent emails and texts to county staff (naming a staff contact in the transcript) without consistent responses.
Planning staff (Stephen) acknowledged the comment, confirmed staff had received information, and committed to have appropriate staff (including Bart, who was in attendance) follow up with Cummings and the HOA.
What happens next: staff will contact the caller to provide case updates and work collaboratively with the HOA to identify next steps.
