Assistant County Administrative Officer Christine Bouchard summarized months of negotiations with the Paramedic Fire Rescue Association and thanked association representatives and county negotiators for their time. "We started negotiations back in July of last year," Bouchard said, noting the effort and many hours contributed by participants on both sides.
The MOU reflects negotiated terms affecting the county's paramedic and rescue personnel. The board voted to adopt the memorandum of understanding; the clerk recorded unanimous "aye" votes. No additional amendments were taken during the board meeting.
Bouchard also noted two clerical errors in the draft materials posted online (a chair name and a date) that the clerk corrected prior to final action. The MOU adoption concludes the formal bargaining cycle described by staff and is the subject of implementation efforts by county administration and the fire/EMS department.
