The board approved a commuter airline operating license amendment to permit JSX to relocate at John Wayne Airport under a sublease with Jay’s FBO.
George Sumner, representing Jay’s, and Carrie Forbes, JSX’s chief legal officer, addressed the board in support of the relocation, saying the move will minimize disruption during taxiway reconstruction and retain JSX’s quieter Embraer aircraft for travelers. "We respectfully ask for your support to finalize this transition," Forbes said.
Supervisors described the relocation as a long time in the making and praised airport staff for securing necessary FAA and TSA approvals. Supervisor Wagner said JSX’s quieter aircraft and the partnership with Jay’s are a good interim solution that preserves service at the airport. Supervisor Foley noted JSX operates under the settlement agreement (curfew and passenger limits) and emphasized noise reduction benefits for nearby communities. The motion to approve the license extension and related authorizations carried unanimously.
