Board continues tax‑sale excess‑proceeds claim, approves several routine items and reports closed‑session appointment

In closed session the board unanimously appointed Vincent as the county’s next facility management director; County Counsel reported the job listing at $122.62 per hour.

On the tax sale matter (item 21.32) staff and deputy county counsel explained the county’s practice of sending broad notifications to possible claimants and said eligibility for excess proceeds is limited to titleholders or lienholders at the time of sale. A caller said she had not received timely notification and contested the distribution; tax‑collector staff said the claimant had not been on title at the time of the tax sale and recommended denial, but the board continued the item to allow staff to return with more information and to contact the caller.

Other routine votes included approval of item 3.15 — funding to address immediate needs of Oasis Mobile Home Park residents — and approval of the renaming for a roadway required under AB 2022. The board handled a number of county housekeeping votes and approvals during the meeting.
