Resident tells council campground 120‑day limit forced evictions, asks for ordinance repeal

Springville — During the public‑comment segment, Patrick (who also identified himself as Steve) Stevens (Speaker 6) addressed the council at length, urging officials to remove a city ordinance he said restricts how long people may stay in local campgrounds and recounting personal hardships he attributed to enforcement of that rule.
Stevens described a rule that prevents campground residents from staying more than 120 days in a calendar year and said he was evicted last year, required to move out of the area multiple times and that the restriction has caused family and medical‑care disruptions. “That ordinance is like I said, everybody laughs at it,” he said, adding he had spoken to KOA national headquarters, media and an attorney about the policy. He asked the council to remove the ordinance so seniors and others living in recreational vehicles could remain in the area.
Council members thanked Stevens for bringing the concern to the record and noted public comment does not automatically trigger immediate council action; staff or the appropriate council committee would need to follow up if Council wished to consider ordinance changes.
No formal action was taken during the meeting based on Stevens’s remarks.
