Bayside residents ask county to prioritize derelict‑structure removals

Taylor said the group has counted 27 structures in a roughly three‑mile stretch and reported that five property owners have verbally agreed to have their structures removed. "We currently have counted 27 structures in that 3 mile stretch," Taylor told the board. She asked the county to consider Bayside for the next derelict‑structure removal effort and said the community is "ready to go," asking that they not have to compete for funds in the initial round.
County staff later presented a draft Community Revitalization Fund ordinance and scheduled a public hearing on Oct. 16; the hearing will allow community members — including those from Bayside — to comment on eligibility, scoring and timing.
