The Daly City Planning Commission on Dec. 3 recommended that the City Council approve a coastal development permit allowing the owner of 60 Rosslyn Court to replace a 246‑square‑foot sunroom with a 216‑square‑foot bedroom addition at the rear of the house.
Staff presented the application and told commissioners the property is in the Resource Protection Overlay District, which triggers a coastal development permit. Planning staff said the project would not place improvements within 50 feet of the bluff edge and that a geotechnical engineering report attached to the staff report concluded the structure could be constructed without geotechnical hazards. Staff also reported the project was determined to be categorically exempt under CEQA guidelines section 15332 for urban infill.
No members of the public submitted speaker cards in support or opposition. Commissioners moved, seconded and verbally approved forwarding the staff recommendation to the City Council for final action on the permit and findings.
The Planning Commission’s recommendation will be placed on an upcoming City Council agenda for final decision; staff and the applicant will provide the council with the findings and conditions recommended by the Planning Commission.
