East Islip board approves consent agenda: personnel actions, MOAs and donations

The East Islip Union Free School District Board approved a series of consent agenda items that included personnel actions, memoranda of agreement with the teachers association for new coaching positions and stipends, appropriation changes and multiple donations.
The board voted to accept certified personnel actions (resignations, leaves, appointments and salary items) and noncertified personnel recommendations as presented. It approved a memorandum of agreement to create a varsity girls wrestling coach position effective July 1, 2025, and a separate MOA to create a junior varsity girls flag football coach position effective the same date. The board also approved MOAs for stipends tied to additional activities, including Unified programs and Future Business Leaders of America.
Appropriation changes for the 2024‑25 year were approved, and the board accepted donations: $1,119.23 from a school student activity account for gym equipment; $1,000 from the New York Schools Insurance Reciprocal to help fund the middle school eighth‑grade trip to Washington, D.C.; $18,773.99 from a high‑school student activity fund to upgrade the Business Center (Room 213); $288 from the FtK (For the Kids) Foundation for middle‑school podcast equipment; and $1,928.20 from SEPTA to fund several teacher grants. Each item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Board members also recognized retiring staff member Rachel Kench and thanked her for her years of service.
