Sadie Phelps, adviser for Assumption High FFA, thanked the jury for a reduced arena rental rate and outlined several student achievements, including two students who earned the American FFA degree and competitors who placed at state and national events.
Phelps asked whether the concession stand and restrooms at the AgCenter would be available for the rodeo (scheduled for the last weekend in April). Parish staff said renovation scope has expanded and it is unlikely the concession building would be ready before April; Phelps said she will provide external facilities and asked only for coordination to minimize conflict with construction.
Phelps also requested flexibility on stall rental charges, noting the number of stalls needed varies and that paying for both nights upfront could cause a loss. The jury approved a motion instructing Phelps to track and report stall rentals for the Saturday event and to remit payment afterward.
The jury also acknowledged the FFA’s community role, including fundraising and programs that benefit local primary students. No budget action was required; staff said they would coordinate logistics with the FFA adviser ahead of the rodeo.
