County procurement staff recommended awarding the oxygen tank and delivery contract to Roberts (Robertson) Oxygen Company after receiving two bids; the second bid was not responsive. Amanda Amos, procurement specialist, said Roberts Oxygen has been the county’s provider since July 2019 and offers multiple convenient locations across Virginia. Funding for the contract is budgeted in the fire and EMS levy fund supply line.
Staff recommended a one‑year contract with the option of four one‑year renewals. Supervisor Speaker 6 moved to award the contract; Speaker 8 seconded. The board approved the contract by voice vote.
Amanda Amos noted FY24 expenditures on oxygen and related tank products were approximately $10,400 and that the recommended vendor had the lowest responsive pricing. The award will allow continuity of supply for EMS and fire services while preserving renewal flexibility.
Planning and finance staff will finalize the contract and ensure delivery locations and rental-fee structures meet county requirements.
