Burns & McDonnell proposed a not-to-exceed amount of $1,692,200 for design and $63,000 for easement acquisition assistance, totaling up to $1,755,200 for the task order. Staff noted $300,000 in Kansas State Water Plan funds have been reserved and the city expects to fund its remaining share from water/wastewater cash balances.
Commissioners asked for and received clarification on the task order sequence (preliminary/permitting work in task order 1, detailed design in task order 2, and then construction‑phase services in a later task order). The commission approved the task order on a voice vote.
