Treasurer and board members reviewed financials: the district reported a beginning balance and year‑to‑date revenues and expenses, noted total revenue through October and explained changes related to the district’s adoption of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for school meals and changes in state funding formulas. Board members discussed uncertainty about year‑five and year‑six funding in the state biennial budget and the impact of open enrollment on formula calculations.
The superintendent announced that the district received a $40,000 Bureau of Workman's Compensation grant to purchase roughly 235 Bluetooth staff badges that will integrate with the district's InformaCast system to provide a silent‑alarm capability; installation is planned over the Christmas break. He also said a second $40,000 grant application for maintenance/snow‑removal equipment is pending review.
Separately, the superintendent said the district is negotiating an athletic trainer partnership agreement with Sunshine Children's Hospital; the draft contract is under legal review and administration plans to present it to the board after on-site meetings with athletic and hospital staff.
Board members asked implementation questions about grant timelines, contract costs, and the demographic study included in the facilities RFQ; the board did not vote on contracts or grant acceptance at the meeting beyond the informational updates.
