The East Tennessee State University Board of Trustees adopted a revised immunization rule after staff presented the changes and summarized public comments gathered in a required public hearing.
The chair invited Dr. Folkes/Fulks to present the item; the presenter said the university had held the required public hearing, received comments summarized in the meeting packet and that staff recommended approving the revised rule. "We had a public hearing as required on this previously. We received a number of comments which have been summarized in the information that you had, and as a result of that, I'm here to let you know that it is the staff's recommendation that you approve the revised rule that you have before you," the presenter said.
Because the item is a rule, the board took a roll call vote. The roll-call read yes votes for Trustee Allen, Trustee Ayers, Trustee DeCarlo, Trustee Foley, Trustee Grisham, Trustee Ramsey and the chair; the chair announced the motion passes.
The meeting record does not include the full text of the revised rule or a transcript of the public comments; the presenter said the comments and staff responses were summarized in the packet provided to trustees. The board took the administrative action to adopt the rule and did not request further clarification during the meeting.
