Clearlake committee advances visitor map and year-round events calendar with ad-sales plan

The Marketing Committee reviewed a refreshed business-and-tourism map intended for distribution to visitors and agreed a publication target of Jan. 1, with event listings due by mid-December for inclusion on a yearlong calendar on the back.
Joan said the map design is complete and that the committee will sell logo ad space around the map’s perimeter to underwrite printing costs. "It's gonna be done by January 1," Joan said when asked about the map deadline; she added she will start sending out event-listing requests to organizations and businesses and will circulate pricing for ad packages once print costs are known.
Committee members discussed distribution through the Chamber, the visitor bureau and other visitor-serving locations, and asked staff to share an ad package and a proposed calendar template. Joan said she has begun reaching out to businesses beyond Chamber members and will share event and ad information in the coming days. Members requested that major concerts, the Soapbox Derby, rodeo and Fourth of July be considered for the calendar and asked staff to coordinate ad renewals and annual updates.
Staff said they will provide price estimates and an event-submission deadline; the committee agreed to finalize event listings and ad buyers prior to the next meeting to meet the print deadline.
