Clear Lake council adopts SB 1 project list for road funding

The Clear Lake City Council adopted a project list for submission to the California Transportation Committee under Senate Bill 1 during the May 19 meeting.
Staff explained that as a self‑help jurisdiction the city is eligible for SB 1 funds and may submit an annual project list for possible funding. The projects the council approved to remain on the list included airport road improvements, Highlands Park frontage improvements and Lakeshore Drive corridor improvements. Two projects were removed from the list this cycle because other funding sources had been used: the Burns Valley Civic Center and the earlier Modoc project.
Councilmember Kramer moved to adopt resolution 2022‑24 (project list) and the motion passed unanimously in the electronic vote. Staff said the list can be amended in future years and is part of the statutorily required SB 1 submission process.
Why it matters: Placement on the SB 1 project list makes projects eligible for state roadway funding programs and helps the city leverage local road funds.
