Clearlake shelter presents adoptable dog and reports near-100% live-release rate

At the Sept. 19 Clearlake City Council meeting, an animal-services representative presented the month's adoptable dog, "Goofy," described as about 1' years old, microchipped, neutered and current on vaccinations.
Shelter staff gave a broader operations update: they reported an approximate 99.09% live-release rate, current inventory of 58 dogs (51 adults and seven puppies), recent microchipping and vaccination clinics, and several births. Staff said the shelter responded during the Boyle's fire by setting up a temporary shelter at Twin Pines, delivering food to affected areas and staffing the local assistance center with animal-care support.
The presenter invited residents to visit the shelter (open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) at 6820 Highway 53 to adopt or meet animals, and thanked the community for support during the emergency.
