Brian Fisher, executive director of Visit Lake County CA (TID), told the Clear Lake City Council on July 18 that 2023 produced an 18% increase in revenue from 2022, with 73% of the organization’s budget coming from county collections and a $112,000 TOT allocation. Fisher reviewed web metrics (about 370,000 page views and 96,000 users), paid-search performance, and growth in organic social media, and highlighted partnerships such as the North of Ordinary regional campaign with Visit California that pooled $44,000 plus state match.
Fisher said the TID has focused on expanding earned media and building a booking‑direct widget that produced more than 56,000 searches in 2023. He cited trade‑show participation, an 80‑page Lakelife magazine distributed outside the county, and production of new video assets for future marketing. Council members thanked him and asked only brief clarifying questions before the council moved to the next agenda item.
The presentation framed tourism as a primary economic driver for Lake County and outlined planned marketing steps for 2024.
