Middletown swears in two new police officers

At the Jan. 18 meeting Middletown Township sworn in Andrew Amorosso and Nicholas Platinecki Jr. as police officers after chiefs recited their backgrounds; both took the official oath of office.
The Middletown Township Board of Supervisors on Jan. 18 presided over the swearing-in of two new police officers.
The police chief introduced Andrew (Drew) Amorosso, reviewing his background as a 2012 Neshaminy High School graduate, Bucks County Prison Academy graduate, and six years as a corrections officer (including promotion to sergeant). Amorosso took the oath of office and was welcomed by the chief and board.
The chief then introduced Nicholas Platinecki Jr., who holds a Bachelor of Science in management information systems and has served as a United States Park Ranger and a SEPTA transit police officer. Platinecki also took the oath and was congratulated by board members.
Board members praised the new officers and thanked longtime township employee Lisa Berkus for her service earlier in the meeting. The board encouraged the officers to stay safe while serving the Middletown community.
