Reading Resolution 012825-1, Councilor Mr. Jiggs said the grant “goes toward emergency management materials, programs, you know, various items we need for those services.” Town staff indicated the award is an annual appropriation already assumed in the operating budget and that the council’s action accepts the revenue rather than creating a new appropriation.
The motion to accept the grant was made and seconded and passed with no recorded dissent. Councilors did not propose amendments to how the funds will be spent during this meeting. The council treated the item as routine acceptance of recurring grant revenue.
