The staff presentation emphasized maintaining current operational levels while completing in-progress projects, particularly street, water and sewer upgrades.
Councilmembers discussed a scheduling conflict in July and considered consolidating meetings; a motion to accept the budget calendar with the exception of adjusting the July meeting date was made, seconded and carried. Staff said the final capital request presentation would occur at the May 16 meeting and that council could adjust the project list or dates as needed during budget workshops.
The council did not adopt a final budget or tax rate at the meeting; the calendar establishes steps and dates for upcoming budget work sessions and presentations.
