The Crockett City Council approved a lease agreement for the recently acquired South Pine Bridal Hospital property on South Fourth to be used as the city’s animal shelter. Staff said the city closed on the property and will lease it to the veterinary operator on a temporary basis while the operator completes construction at its new location; the operator will carry liability and business insurance during that transition.
Staff estimated the current tenant will remain at the site for about six months as they move into their new facility. Council members spoke in favor of proceeding now that the city has the building in hand; a motion to approve the lease and to authorize Mayor Ianthea Fisher to act on behalf of the city was made, seconded and approved.
The transcript records the council’s approval but does not include the lease terms, length, or financial specifics on the record. Staff said further public announcements would follow as the project advances.
