Executive Director Lincoln Lynch responded that the district supports solar initiatives and is moving forward with a Farley solar design requisition (approximately $400,000) and that roof projects are being planned to be “solar ready” where feasible. Lynch emphasized the administrative steps needed—for example, helioscope/site studies, full solar design, funding for construction and bidding—explaining each phase’s cost and timeline.
The committee’s subsequent capital discussion and votes addressed sequencing and staffing constraints that affect how quickly solar and other deferred projects can proceed. Several committee members urged including future solar projects in the six‑year capital plan so they are not lost during the proposed one‑year pause on large new capital requests.
