Framingham School Committee approves student clubs, gifts, warrants and minutes

The Framingham School Committee voted unanimously Dec. 4 to approve three new student activity accounts — Medical Society, Culinary Club and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) — following a request from the executive director of finance and operations.
Lincoln Lynch told the committee that, per the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), the committee must take a favorable vote to authorize new student activity groups. "Per DESE, I need to request a favorable vote to approve any new student activity groups," Lynch said.
The committee also accepted gifts to CRD, King, the high school, Barbary, Walsh and Hemingway that included items such as hats, books, an iPad and funds to reduce prom or senior event costs and to support DECA registration. Finance reported warrant totals of $3,865,940.64 and payroll totaling $5,906,631.19 for the relevant period. The committee approved open and executive session minutes from the Oct. 16 meeting by roll call.
All votes on these routine approvals were unanimous.
