The Framingham School Committee voted unanimously to approve the school committee goals for 2024–2025, pausing final action on diversity, equity and inclusion goals while the Office of Equity, Belonging, and Community Engagement undergoes restructuring.
Madam Chair called for a motion to approve the combined school committee goals. "Moved by Miss Maskell," the chair said, and the motion was seconded by Mr. Robles. The chair announced the vote as unanimous.
Finance and operations reported warrant totals of $1,078,604.15 and a payroll total of $5,737,261.15 for the reporting dates of Nov. 30 and Dec. 9, respectively. Mr. LaBarge presented those figures to the committee.
The committee also voted to accept several gifts to schools — including donations for graduate support, author visits, career-fair door prizes and staff appreciation — and approved the creation of scholarship accounts (the Marching Arts Scholarship, the Wright Charles Scholarship and the Urban Charles Scholarship). Motions to accept the gifts and create scholarship accounts were moved and seconded and approved without opposition.
The committee approved open-session minutes for Oct. 30, 2024, following a motion by Miss Moshe and a second by Mr. LaBarge. With no further public comment and seven participants present on Zoom, the committee then approved a motion to adjourn. The chair declared the meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
