The Lebanon City Council on Oct. 15 confirmed Sean Bennett as the city’s finance director.
Kathy presented Bennett to the council as the city administrator’s nominee, saying he graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in business management and earned a Master of Arts from Johns Hopkins University in finance and economics. Kathy told the council Bennett has worked extensively in finance roles, has passed two of three Chartered Financial Analyst exams and has a tentative start date of Oct. 21. Kathy also said Bennett could not attend the meeting due to a recent death in his family.
Garner moved to appoint Bennett and Jordan seconded. The council took a roll-call vote (Adkins, Mitchell, Mechler, Wall, Jordan, Garner all voting yes) and the motion carried.
The vote completes the formal appointment; Bennett’s responsibilities and reporting structure will be those established by city code and by direction of the mayor and city administration.
