Rising Sun approves consent agenda, staff highlights Little League parade and service schedules

Rising Sun officials approved the consent agenda at their Sept. 10 meeting by a recorded vote of 3–0.
An attendee moved, "I make a motion to approve the consent agenda," the motion was seconded and the presiding officer called the vote. The presiding officer announced the vote as "3 to 0" and declared the motion passed.
Town staff reported the town sponsored a Little League parade to honor five teams that advanced to district title games, and noted one girls softball team won a state championship. The staff member said the mayor has discussed making the parade an annual event and that the town will look at budgeting to support it.
Officials also reviewed routine operations and scheduling: upcoming regular town meetings (Oct. 8, Nov. 12, Dec. 10, 2024 and Jan. 14, 2025), a tentative Planning Commission meeting on Oct. 17, and community events including 'Spooktacular' in October and a 'Winter Extravaganza' in December. The town reiterated trash, recycling and yard‑waste schedules and listed observed holidays; residents were directed to the town website for schedule updates.
The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn was moved and seconded and the presiding officer closed the session.
