Edgerton fire chief reports 47 calls in April, announces May 30 blood drive

Trevor described several difficult incidents the department handled in April: a head-on collision where a patient was trapped for an extended period because a downed 24,000-volt line delayed access; a grueling semi-versus-semi interstate collision with severe injuries; and a commercial structure fire in Fulton. Officer Chilton said he retrieved video footage from a vehicle fire involving children and credited in-vehicle extinguishers with preventing a worse outcome.
The chief also announced an upcoming blood drive on May 30 at the Edgerton Station and noted the department's ongoing cadet program as part of staffing and recruitment efforts.
Next steps: the department will validate April numbers with a supplemental comment expected on Wednesday and incorporate finalized figures into the next monthly report.
