Rising Sun commissioners ratify Jim Boyd for Board of Zoning Appeals

The Board of Mayor and Commissioners of the Town of Rising Sun voted Feb. 22 to ratify an appointment to the town’s Board of Zoning Appeals.
Town Administrator Thomas Shrager presented Resolution 2022-03 recommending that Jim Boyd fill one of three current vacancies on the five-member board and serve through June 30, 2024. Shrager said the town received an email from Boyd expressing interest and noted Boyd previously served on the town’s planning commission: "We have a vacancy on the Board of Appeals and ... Mr. Jim Boyd expressing his interest in wanting to serve on the Board of Appeals," Shrager said.
An unidentified commissioner moved to adopt the resolution; a participant identified as "Roger" seconded. The presiding official called for discussion and none was offered. The board approved the resolution, recorded as "Passes 3 0." The resolution language as read to the board establishes the appointment under the town's code and the town charter.
The action fills a vacancy on the Board of Zoning Appeals but does not itself change the board's membership rules or the town code. Shrager said the appointment would run to June 30, 2024. No public comment was offered on the appointment during the meeting.
The board proceeded to other business and adjourned after routine reports.
