Resident tells council an empty school bus is running through Sheffield Avenue four times daily; asks city to investigate
Summary
At the Citizens' Forum, Thomas Joseph (TJ) Provost of Sheffield Avenue asked the council to investigate school-bus routing and monitor use after he saw an empty bus stop and let an adult off at a non-child location; he questioned whether taxpayers are paying for non-student pickup activity and asked the council to contact the school committee.

During the Citizens' Forum, resident Thomas Joseph (TJ) Provost of 37 Sheffield Avenue raised a safety and contracting concern about a bus route that he said runs along Sheffield several times a day with no children on board.
Provost said he confronted the driver about speed and safety and later learned an adult had been let off the bus at a non-student stop. He asked whether the bus-monitoring program and pickup-at-home model (which he described as a safety check) are covered by the city's contract and whether the council or school committee can review the number of buses assigned to house-to-house monitoring stops.
Council staff noted that bus contracts are technically under the school committee's authority but said they would "flag that" and convey the concern to the appropriate body. Provost asked for a follow-up letter or action to ensure taxpayers are not funding unnecessary trips.
