Middletown board proclaims Parkland Fire Companys 100th anniversary

Chair read the proclamation noting Parkland was organized in September 1921, formally chartered in 1922 and reorganized in 1937 following a house fire. The proclamation recounted the construction of the companys firehouse in 1938 and cited historical details included in the township packet.
Chair then recognized Chief TJ Stressman and President Jim McFadden and read several service awards and retirements announced at the departments banquet, including names honored for years of service (Kristen Ottinger, Jared Watson, Harry Bickling), retirees Michael Fox and Edward Hill, the Chiefs Award to Jim McFadden, the Presidents Award to Anthony Cole and Firefighter of the Year to Zachary Herstein. The board also thanked former Parkland chief Lyle Winters for traveling from Florida to attend.
The board invited applause and publicly thanked Parkland Fire Company for volunteer service to Middletown Township.
