Township to hire Cohen Law Group for cable franchise renewal work

Finance/administrative staff said franchise agreements have changed substantially over the past 15 years—digital services and streaming complicate revenue calculations—and recommended engaging an attorney experienced in franchise negotiations. The proposed contract with Cohen Law Group was presented at a cost of $26,660 and staff said money was available in the special legal services budget line.
A motion to accept the proposal was made, seconded and the board approved the contract by voice vote.
