Staff noted that many of the city’s homes were constructed after the local ban on lead use in water service lines, and therefore said it is “exceptionally unlikely” that some lines would contain lead. The presenter encouraged property owners to cooperate with scheduling so the city can complete the inventory and meet federal reporting requirements.
Council did not adopt policy at the meeting; staff said they will continue outreach and return with updated counts once on-site verifications are completed.
