City staff outline $307,115 CDBG proposal, council to vote Oct. 21

City staff told the Lock Haven City Council on Oct. 7 that the final public hearing for the 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program concluded prior to the meeting and the city proposes to apply for $307,115 in CDBG funds.
The application under consideration would allocate $150,000 to Spring Street and Stone Alley paving, $120,000 to park improvements, and $37,115 for administration. Staff said written comments on the proposal will be accepted at csimcox@lockhavenpa.gov until 4 p.m. on Oct. 17; the council is scheduled to vote on the final application at its Oct. 21 meeting and staff plans to submit the application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) before Nov. 1.
Council members were offered the opportunity to ask questions and staff outlined next steps: prepare the final application packet and include responses to any written public comments. No final funding decisions were made at the Oct. 7 meeting; the Oct. 21 meeting is expected to include the council’s final approval vote.
