Lock Haven reports fire relief allocation, pension aid and water-survey findings

City staff told the Lock Haven City Council that the city received a 2023 fire relief allocation of $34,937.77, pension state aid totaling $301,502.47, and an estimate for next year's liquid fuels funding of about $231,000 (the city received $229,000 this year).
Staff also reviewed a brief water-survey the city conducted: 44 people participated and 40 were customers who receive a bill from the city. According to staff, 76% of respondents said they better understood the need for drainage/water rates after the outreach; 47% favored formation of a joint municipal authority as the best path forward, 31% preferred maintaining the current arrangement and 22% favored selling the system.
Staff said the State Liquid Fuels audit for 2021'22 came back clean. The council received these updates for its information; no formal decisions were made during the meeting on the water system options or the allocations beyond acknowledging receipt.
