Summit County Council proclaims April 23–29, 2023 National Library Week
Summary

The Summit County Council adopted Proclamation No. 2020-3-8 recognizing April 23–29, 2023 as National Library Week and expressing thanks to Summit County Library staff for their service.
Dan (library staff) described the library system that the Summit County Department of Heritage and Arts operates: three branches (Colville, Camas Valley and Kimball Junction), a bookmobile, and three material lockers. He told the council the library system serves a high volume of patrons each year and summarized 2022 service statistics cited in the proclamation packet (staff noted approximately 18 FTE and a total of 23 employees — 13 full time and 10 part time — roughly 152,000 annual visitors, about 5,000 public computer sessions and roughly 213,000 wireless sessions). The council moved, seconded and unanimously approved the proclamation and paused for a group photo with staff.
