Planning commission recommends plat amendment for White Pine Ranches to allow vehicle-control gate

Snyderville Basin Planning Commission — On Aug. 27 the commission considered a plat amendment for White Pine Ranches phases 1 and 2 to widen the right-of-way encompassing Lot 6 (phase 1) and Lot 7 (phase 2) so a previously approved vehicle-control gate can be constructed.
Ray Miller (covering for Amir) explained that the April 9 conditional-use approval for the gate requires a slightly wider right-of-way that the recorded plats do not currently provide. He said staff had run the proposed plat modifications through internal review and service providers and recommended the commission conduct a public hearing and forward a positive recommendation to the Summit County manager.
The applicant spoke briefly in support of the amendment, asking the commission to approve the plat amendment so the project could proceed. No members of the public spoke during the hearing.
Commissioner (Speaker 11) moved to recommend approval to the county manager "pursuant to the findings of facts, conclusions of law, and conditions of approval" in the staff report; Commissioner Mooney seconded. The commission conducted a roll-call vote: Commissioners Nagy, Mooney, Carmichael, Cook and the chair recorded "aye," and the motion passed 6–0.
Next steps: The commission will forward the recommendation for final action by the county manager as required by the plat-amendment process.
