Presenters said the fair—which includes livestock events and attracts families—produced a notable increase in engagement and a measurable uptick in service signups in the week after the event. Staff distributed flyers and branded bandanas linked to QR codes to direct residents to department resources. "We got a lot of information into people's hands," a staff member said, summarizing the outreach objective.
Board members praised the effort and discussed ways to reuse the float at other fall events, including sports and community gatherings. Staff said small giveaways and a visible presence help residents become familiar with new or relocated clinic staff in Colville and other towns.
The health department said it will continue similar outreach at community events and will use the materials and lessons learned from this season’s parades to inform future efforts.
