At the June 3 Summit County Board of Health meeting, members approved minutes from May 6 and May 8 and scheduled a July 1 meeting to consider public comments on proposed health-code changes.
A board member moved to approve the 05/06/2024 and 05/08/2024 meeting minutes and a second was given; the chair called for a voice vote and 'Aye' was recorded from voting members. The motion carried.
Phil, the health department director, outlined the next steps for the health-code change process: staff will compile public comments into a readable document that will be circulated well before the July 1 meeting so members can prepare. "If the public comment does not require additional edits or considerations from the legal team, we might ask for a motion to approve those changes and make them effective immediately," Phil said.
The board agreed to hold the July 1 meeting remotely at 4:00 p.m. to review the public-comment summary and, if appropriate after legal review, to take formal action on proposed health-code edits. The board also approved the motion to adjourn at the meeting’s close by voice vote.
