Lauderhill commission approves consent agenda, surplus disposal and local donations; agenda revisions adopted

Lauderhill — The Lauderhill City Commission on Feb. 24 approved a set of routine but consequential measures including a revised agenda, multiple consent items and several resolutions funding community programs.
Vice Mayor Saray Martin’s motion to adopt a revised agenda — removing proclamations, tabling item 15 and adding resolution 25R-02-46 as item 14a — passed on a 5-0 roll call. The full consent agenda, which included budget and code amendments and several resolutions, was later approved by a 5-0 vote.
The commission approved Resolution 25R‑02‑35 to dispose of obsolete and surplus equipment from several departments by auction. Interim City Manager Kenny Hobbs said the items slated for auction were nonoperable (good for parts only).
The commission also approved two community donations: $2,500 to the Broward County Boys & Girls Club to support a construction career day on March 15 (Christian Tilley, CEO, said the event expects more than 200 teens), and a sponsorship of up to $3,000 for the Jamaica International Music Awards gala. Both passed unanimously.
