Stephens County honors local football programs and recognizes long-serving election worker Diane Collins

At its December meeting the Stephens County Board of Commissioners recognized the achievements of both the middle school and high school football teams and adopted a formal proclamation honoring Diane Collins for her long service in local elections.

Vice Chair Chris Rickman introduced the middle school coaching staff and noted the middle school team finished 6–0 in the regular season and were region runner-up. The board then recognized the Stephens County High School team and its coaching staff; the board noted the high school team advanced to the third round of the playoffs and praised players and coaches for representing the community.

The board also read and adopted a proclamation recognizing Diane Collins for 34 years of service in the county's elections process, noting her longtime roles as a poll officer and poll manager, her civic involvement with local organizations and her contribution to the professionalism of local elections.

The proclamation was adopted by voice vote, and the board invited attendees to a reception and photo opportunities following the meeting.
