ALIEF ISD board accepts $633,062.59 in reported donations; recognizes new administrators

The ALIEF ISD Board of Trustees accepted the district's February donation report Feb. 18 and recognized new administrative hires.

Miss Jones, the district’s business and community partner coordinator, presented the monthly donations and named multiple corporate and community donors and program gifts. As read to the board, donations included contributions attributed in the transcript to entities listed with varying amounts; Miss Jones concluded the report with a grand total of $633,062.59 as the month’s donations. Following the presentation, Trustee Lily Truong moved to accept the donation report as presented and Trustee Janet Spurlock seconded; the board approved the report by voice (vote recorded as 6 yes, 0 no, 0 abstentions).

Superintendent Anthony Mays and trustees also recognized new administrative appointees: Stephanie Burns was introduced as assistant director of special education and spoke briefly about her 25 years in education and priorities for supporting exceptional children and families. Glenn Jarrett was introduced as a leader in facilities and construction with more than 25 years of experience and said he looks forward to integrating modernization efforts and providing pathways for career and technical students to join maintenance and operations roles.

The board did not take further action on the recognitions; the donation report and recognitions were entered into the record.
