Staff told the committee that the town’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Phase 2 outreach is underway and that Sudbury has received planning funds and an MVP action grant; the town is eligible for up to $50,000 to implement a seed project chosen by residents.
Danny reported the facilities lighting retrofit is active across town buildings, with the library installation revealing pendant fixtures that cannot be retrofitted and will require replacement pending a change-order estimate. "We just finished at the library last week... some lights now that aren't gonna work with the current fixtures," Danny said; staff are seeking fixture options from the town’s architect and will assess whether in-house crews can perform replacements.
On solar installations, staff described progress at the DPW (rails and mounting underway) and said a seam/movement issue on the metal roof had caused a short pause while designers and contractors evaluate solutions; the Fairbank solar design was advanced separately (committee favored the slightly smaller 240 kW AC option). For Goodnow Library EV chargers, staff said Eversource still must finish make‑ready work before bidirectional charging can be installed, so that project may be delayed until spring if approval does not arrive.
What’s next: Staff will open price proposals for the climate-vulnerability RFP and select a consultant, finalize library lighting options and change-order costs, resolve the metal-roof issue at DPW, and continue outreach for MVP Phase 2 to prepare resident voting on seed projects.
