Fredericksburg ARB delays votes on two new applications after newspaper missed second advertisement; approves one consent sign
Summary
Staff told the ARB a required second newspaper advertisement was not printed, so votes on two new public-hearing items were continued to Dec. 9; the board approved a consent-agenda sign installation at 708 Caroline Street.
Staff informed the Architectural Review Board that The Free Lance–Star failed to publish the second legally required advertisement for two new public-hearing applications, so the board opened the hearings for discussion but continued any final action until the items are properly re-advertised and will be considered at the Dec. 9 meeting.
The affected items are applications for 1309 Charles Street (porch roof material) and 1305 Sophia Street (window replacements). Staff said the lack of proper print notice prevents the ARB from taking a final vote tonight but that the board may hear presentations and public comment prior to the December 9 decision.
Separately, the ARB approved a consent-agenda item for a sign installation at 708 Caroline Street by voice vote.
