Crowley ISD outlines upcoming improvement plan, TAPR public hearing and procurement items

District staff told the Crowley ISD board during the meeting that several action items and public hearings will be scheduled in coming weeks, including a targeted improvement plan (TIP) for Mary Harris Elementary, a district improvement plan and a public hearing on the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) for 2023–24.

Mr. Kershner said Miss Batiste and the academic team are preparing the TIP for Mary Harris and that the TAPR public hearing, covering 2023–24 data, will be presented Feb. 27 by CJ Hill and the Office of Academic Excellence. He also noted procurement items coming forward: RFPs for kitchen equipment at Deer Creek, Meadow Creek and Sycamore elementaries and a plan to expand Styrofoam recycling units used at secondary campuses to elementary schools. The policy committee and staff are finalizing recommended local policy update 123 for future consideration.

Board members were told background materials will be distributed in advance so trustees can be prepared to take action at subsequent meetings.

What’s next The district will add the TIP and TAPR public hearing to future agendas (TAPR public hearing on Feb. 27 was specified). RFPs and policy recommendations will be brought back to the board with supporting materials.
