Shell said the plan is organized into three sections: a community profile with demographic and baseline data; a "where do we want to go" section containing community-determined values, principles, priorities and a future land use map; and an implementation and action plan with detailed metrics to track progress. She summarized public engagement over the last two years, including online surveys, festival tabling, eight neighborhood conversations with about 205 residents, an open house and roughly 1,800 total responses across outreach activities.
Shell noted the plan has informed earlier city actions, including the creation of a rental registry and a vacant property registry, separation of heavy and light industrial districts in the zoning map, and maintenance and connectivity efforts on the Paul Ambrose Trail for Health. She encouraged council and the public to review the draft on the city—s website and noted printed copies are available at the Clarkson Planning Office and the public library reference desk.
The ordinance adopting the comprehensive plan (2024-O-45) was presented for second reading; the transcript records the presentation but not a final council vote on adoption.
