- Financial posture: The district said many GMPs are close to original estimates despite inflationary pressures. Staff noted the district did not place an overall bond contingency but has invested bond proceeds and earned non‑arbitrage interest that helps cover some cost pressures; staff mentioned nearly $30 million in non‑arbitrage earnings in recent years as a resource to manage program delivery.
Questions and board comments
Trustees asked about site parking changes (Plano East net loss of seven spaces), neighborhood impacts from new entrances at Harrington, and the pond at Plano Senior High; staff confirmed the pond will remain and said security fencing will be placed close to building corners, with the pond inside the secured perimeter. Trustees expressed appreciation for coordination and noted the bond’s visible impact across the district.
What’s next
Staff said they will return to the March board meeting with contractor recommendations for projects that opened bids in January, continue permitting and phasing work, and post updated schedules as key milestones occur.
